Extremely hard to find cased Maynard Model 1873 single shot breechloading rifle made by The Massachusetts Arms Company circa 1875. Comes with 3 blued octagon-to-round takedown barrels with a .35 caliber rifled barrel, a .55 caliber rifled barrel, and a .55 caliber smoothbore barrel. Rifled barrels have blade front sights and rear notch sight, while smoothbore has just a bead front sight. Case hardened, single shot, tape primer ignition action comes with brass distinctive Maynard cases in .35 and .55 calibers. Action has fire blued screws, Maynard Arms Company markings, and tang folding peep sight. Walnut figured slab board style stock with case hardened steel buttplate and blued Maynard's Patent marked patchbox with 2 extra nipples inside. Gun comes with a multitude of neat accessories such as 2 Maynard marked tong bullet molds, screwdrivers, American Cap & Flask powderflask, 4 "Maynard's Lubricant" marked tins with brass caps, 4 tins with Maynard marked brass lids containing roles of tape primers, screwdrivers, reloading rams, and wad cutter. All items compartmented in a custom red velvet tray that fits into a leather trunk. Coming with the gun is a letter from original owner and an Adam's Express shipping ticket for the gun. PROVENANCE: Ex. Dr. John Lattimer Collection. CONDITION: Overall good with 90% fading original blue with light edge wear. 80% fading vivid case colors. 85% original varnish with some light scratches and dings. Good bores and mechanics with case in aged but good condition. A great find!

CORRECTION: The .55 caliber barrel is actually a .50 caliber barrel. All barrels are marked "4023" on underside of breech.
