This lot includes approximately 90 issues of "The American Sportsman", "Rod and Gun", "Forest and Stream" with a few issues "Chicago Field" and the "Sporting Goods Gazette", mostly dating to the 1870s and 1880s. Additionally the lot includes 3 1840/50s issues of the "Spirit of the Times" in their yellow mailing wrappers, an 1833 issue of "American Turf Register and Sporting Magazine", and a period bound set of 1857 "Porter's Spirit" periodicals. All of these sporting related periodicals provide a wonderful glimpse into firearm and sporting history and culture through their articles and wonderful period advertisements. CONDITION: Good for their age with some expected yellowing, chipping, and loss. The bound set has some losses to the spine, remaining serviceable. A great grouping of hard to find and interesting publications.
