Iconic pocket pistol manufactured by Deringer in Philadelphia. Measures approximately 6" overall. Tear drop barrel with flat top equipped with a diminutive blade front sight, stamped "DERINGER/ PHILADEL" over breech, with an offset "P", borders engraved with wriggle work and eccentric zig zag pattern. Rear sight mounted to tang. Back action percussion lock with small German silver accent stamped "DERINGER / PHILADEL" with florals. Barrel retained by single key through German silver escutcheon. German silver trigger guard with pineapple finial, engraved in floral scroll. German silver sideplate, with sidebolt feeding through escutcheon. German silver nosepiece and tear drop on backstrap, which is incised "DWD", probably initials. German silver armorial shield on wrist. Checkered panels at wrist. CONDITION: Barrel and lock are essentially dove grey mixed with a chocolate patina, somewhat heavier on barrel than lock, with crisp legends. German silver is very good with some handling marks. Stock excellent with some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine, bore with softened rifling and even oxidation throughout.
