Circa 1939, with new dovetail 25" blued steel barrels in 1980. Barrels are proved for nitro, and have 2 - 3/4" chambers and ejectors. The barrels are fitted with a raised Churchhill styled filed narrow rib. Rib with small round brass front bead sight. Barrels read "WESTLEY RICHARDS" on right and "& Co. ENGLAND" on left. Barrel bottoms are both stamped "2101" for serial number. Barrel flats with appropriate proof markings "2 3/4"", "3 1/4" TONS PER" (square), ".550", "28" in diamond. Chokes are Full in left and Modified in right. The shiny coin finished scalloped boxlock is handsomely engraved with scrolls and game scenes of flying quail and flying woodcock. "WESTLEY RICHARDS" above in ribbon on both right and left sides. The blacked bottom action is nicely engraved with scroll and a hunting dog peering on in a wooded setting. Action is fit with double triggers, blacked and engraved top lever with checkered thumb. Blacked checkered safe slide. "SAFE" is engraved. The restocked straight grained brown walnut stock with flat top checkering on its English straight hand grip bears a gold oval and is finished by a checkered butt. Double checkers are protected by a black floral scroll engraved trigger guard which extends to a long engraved bottom strap. "2101" is also engraved on strap. Original splinter forend with flat top checkering, diamond engraved pin, engraved escutcheon, and Anson forend release has black engraved exterior iron metal and blacked internal iron metal. "2101" is engraved. Gun comes in newer beige canvas case with paper trade label, envelope with gun information, suede pouch with mop and brush, 2-piece cleaning rod and original stock (with wood extension). CONDITION: Excellent as restored. Barrels excellent inside and out. Action, triggers, and ejectors operate well. New stock is very good. Original forend is very good. Case is good with some oil stains. Nice gun.
