Circa 1921. A vintage and interesting 20 bore game gun with 26" chopper lump blued steel barrels, ejectors, and 2 - 3/4" chambers. Right barrel reads "E.J. CHURCHILL. (GUNMAKERS). LTD.". Left barrel reads "8, AGAR ST. STRAND. LONDON, W.C.2." Barrels are furnished with a matte concave tapered rib with off-white round front bead. Barrel flats with Nitro Proof marks and stamped for 7/8 load. Bottom of barrel tubes read "2312 and 2312". chokes are Improved Modified and Improved Cylinder. The case colored pinless sidelock action has been built with double bladed triggers and third fastener. Tight scroll engraving with "E.J. CHURCHILL" in ribbon, cocking indicator, engraved and checkered top lever, and a scroll engraved and checkered safe slide. "SAFE" in gold. Gun is auto safe. Triggers protected by a blacked and scroll engraved trigger guard that extends to a medium length bottom strap. Bottom strap also engraved "No 2312". Bottom action, with traces of case color, is scroll engraved and reads "PREMIER MODEL" in gold and "FINEST QUALITY" in between. Highly figured European honey colored walnut stock with finely checkered English straight grip, vacant gold oval, and finished by a buttstock which is tightly checkered and has blued heel and toe plates. Splinter forend with matched wood and checkering with scroll engraved pin, escutcheon, Anson push button release, and scroll engraved exterior iron metal. Interior iron metal with guns serial number "2312". Gun lives a newer dark brown oak and leather case with cleaning tools and paperwork. CONDITION: Excellent as restored. Barrels excellent. Action, triggers, and ejectors are all very good. Stock and forend are also excellent as gun has been completely restored. Case very good. Nice gun.
