The East and West Africa Medal is a campaign medal awarded for minor campaigns that took place in East and West Africa between 1887-1900. The lot consists of: (A) East and West Africa Medal named in sloping capitals to "160065 F.E. MCLEAN, Q.S., H.M.S. BAROSSA". The medal displays the Benin 1897, Brass River 1895, Gambia 1894 clasps. Dark patina. (B) EWAM impressed in upright capitals to "F.A. GOGGER, S.S. BOY, H.M.S. BAROSSA". The medal displays the Benin 1897 and Brass River 1895 clasps. (C) EWAM impressed in upright capitals to "F.C. PETTS, STO., H.M.S. FORTE." The medal displays the Benin 1897 clasp. (D) EWAM engraved in upright capitals to "W.J. WING, STOKER. H.M.S. BITTERN. 73-74". Tag with info on reverse ribbon. CONDITION: The medals exhibit a varying patina with scattered blemishes. Good-very good.
