M/40 manufactured by Husqvarna of Sweden. Left side of slide bears Husqvarna's manufacturer information above the serial number, followed by a Swedish Air Force unit mark "F12/ 980", likely indicating issue to either the Kalmar Fighter Wing or Flygflottilj (Air Flottila). Rear of frame bears a "(Crown)/ S.S." inspection proof. Bottom of butt bears a small Simpson LTD. import stamp. Metal components are blued, while the frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. Slide retains its accelerator. Frame and slide do not match. This example is accompanied by a brown leather holster bearing Swedish 3-crown stamp on the front, and contains 2 additional magazines, a magazine loader, as well as a cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, as well as some areas of mild thinning and wear that show through to a pleasant brown patina. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few minor nicks and marks, but are otherwise fine. Holster shows mild wear overall and very light age related cracking overall, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
