M.11 Luger manufactured by Vickers LTD. in England under contract for the Dutch military. The chamber area is blank, with the left side of the receiver bearing a "(Crown)/ W" for Queen Wilhelmina. Top of barrel is stamped "1933" indicating the date of armorer replacement. Frame is appropriately stamped "RUST" at the safety, with "c/16" present on the right side. Frame retains its brass data plate that is unit marked "1-II SUM. W./ 13" indicating issue to the 2nd Garrison Battalion, West Coast of Sumatra. "(Crown)/ V" proof is present on the top of the breechblock and toggles. Underside of barrel bears additional British proofs. Metal components are period reblued, with a few spots appearing to have been touched up at one point in time. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Interior of left grip panel bears an encircled "GS" proof. All numbers are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, barrel, receiver, breechblock, toggles, as well as the grips. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their period reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of thinning and wear, as well as some minor pitting beneath the finish. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips show some smoothing and a few minor handling marks, but are otherwise fine.
