Standard configuration P.08 manufactured by Erfurt in 1912. The receiver is stamped "1912" over the chamber, with Erfurt arsenal proofs followed by an Imperial German reichsadler on the right. Toggle is stamped with a crown over "ERFURT". Underside of barrel bears British import proofs, which appear to be a mixture of proofs from the London and Birmingham Proof Houses, followed by an unusual encircled "EB / 2" proof. Various external components exhibit small Birmingham "(Crown)/ BNP" proofs. Frame has been altered at the Erfurt arsenal to accept a hold-open device, exhibiting a small circular incision on the right above a small crowned arsenal proof. Major metal components are blued, while some smaller components are strawed or nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. All numbers are matching (including the grips), with the exception of the magazine. Takedown lever is poorly fit, but appears to be original or a proper arsenal replacement. Pistol is accompanied by 1 additional non-matching nickel plated wood bottom magazine. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining the majority of their arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of minor wear and thinning showing through to gray patina, as well as a few concentrated areas of mild surface oxidation. Strawed components retain large amounts of their finish, showing some age related discoloration and minor losses. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some smoothing and a few scattered nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise fine.
