Model 1906 American Eagle Luger manufactured by DWM for commercial sales within the United States. The receiver bears the US Great Seal over the chamber, with the toggle bearing the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Front of frame is stamped "GERMANY" below the serial number. Major metal components exhibit a rust blued finish, while some smaller components are strawed or nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-peice checkered walnut grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, trigger, grip safety, barrel, receiver, breechblock, as well as on the toggles. Sideplate is an unnumbered replacement. Grips do not match, but match themselves. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blued finish, exhibiting a couple spots of minor wear and some mild thinning overall. Grip safety retains most of its blue finish, with areas of wear showing through to gray patina. Sideplate exhibits wear and thinning overall, and appears to have been polished at one point in time. Strawed components retain good amounts of their original finish, exhibiting wear through to gray patina and showing some light age related discoloration. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining sharp and well defined lands and grooves throughout. Grips show smoothing and a few nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
