P.08 manufactured by DWM during the early Weimar era for police use. The receiver is stamped "1921" over the chamber, with Weimar "(Eagle)/ WaA4" waffenamts present on the right. Toggle bears the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Front grip strap is police unit marked "S.D.VI.470." indicating Schutzpolizei, Dusseldorf District, Unit 6, Property Number 470. Major metal components exhibit a rust blue finish, while some smaller components are strawed or nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Frame also retains a cut-out for the Walther magazine safety. Receiver retains its Schiwy safety. All numbers are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, barrel, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, receiver axle pin, as well as the tin plated magazine. Grips are unnumbered. This example is accompanied by a matching brown leather holster stamped "FRANZ COBAU/ BERLIN/ 1935" above an indistinct police starburst proof, and contains an additional matching Haenel chrome plated magazine. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their factory applied finish, exhibiting some minor areas of wear and some areas of thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas. Strawed components retain good amounts of their finish, exhibiting wear, some light surface oxidation, and some spots of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting good rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and some scattered nicks and marks to the diamonds, but are otherwise fine. Holster leather is malleable, exhibiting some areas of minor age related cracking and some scattered marks from handling and storage. A very nice DWM "1921" dated P.08 Police Luger, with its matching holster and spare magazine.
