Model 1911 Luger manufactured by DWM under contract for Bulgaria. This example, having been produced in the second batch of M1911 Lugers, bears a "C" suffix following the serial number on the frame and barrel. The receiver is stamped with the intertwined "DWM" monogram over the chamber, with the Bulgarian Rampant Lion Coat of Arms present on the toggle, which is exclusive to this variation. Right side of receiver is impressed with a Bulgarian Rampant Lion. Frame and extractor are both properly stamped in Cyrillic. Rear grip strap retains its lanyard loop at the heel. Major metal components are rust blued, while some smaller components are strawed or nitre blued. Nearly all numbers are matching in the "hidden" commercial fashion and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, barrel, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, as well as the toggles. Magazine does not match, but appears to be from the first batch of M1911 Bulgarian contract Lugers delivered by DWM. Grips do not match. Pistol is accompanied by an unmarked Bulgarian brown leather holster. CONDITION: Major metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning overall that show through to gray and a heavy brown patina. Right side of receiver appears to have been cleaned at one point in time, exhibiting some mild pitting and striations. Strawed components retain fair amounts of their original finish, exhibiting wear overall with some areas of age related discoloration. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild pitting and retaining good rifling throughout. Grips exhibit smoothing, with some scattered nicks to the diamonds. Holster is excellent, leather is malleable. Closure flap strap is partially torn and should be handled with care. A desirable example of a DWM Model 1911 Bulgarian contract Luger.
