Adopted in 1917 to enable troops with shotguns to have readily available ammunition as compared to keeping individual rounds of ammo in their pockets. Khaki canvas construction with canvas web loops on the interior. Ink stamped with the manufacturer's logo above "APR. 1918" on inside of flap. Complete with a period web sling, as well as a box of ammunition marked "10 SHELLS, SHOTGUN,/ BRASS, 12 GAGE/ No. 00 BUCKSHOT M19" above additional lot and manufacturer data. CONDITION: NRA Very Good, exhibiting little wear and some mild staining. Stitching is tight. Box of shells shows minor water staining, but is otherwise fine.
