Winchester Third Model 1876 Deluxe made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1886. Blued Winchester 2-line address with King's Improvement marked 28" octagon barrel in .40-60 W.C.F. with sheared silver blade front sight, adjustable flip graduated notched rear sight. Case hardened Third Model action with set trigger and full magazine. Brass elevator factory marked with ".40-60" marking. Factory deluxe checkered Winchester grip capped pistol grip stocks with case hardened crescent trap buttplate and original Winchester 4-piece steel cleaning rod inside. Matching "2622" number on buttplate, stock, and tang along with "XXX" marking. Comes with Cody Research letter that verifies all options except set trigger but letter does say rifle was returned for repair in 1899; possibly for set trigger installation? CONDITION: 95% original barrel blue with light edge wear. 95% vivid case colors with areas of discoloration with phenomenal screws. 95% original Winchester high luster varnish with sharp checkering and some dings and marks from usage. Good bore and mechanics. A great addition to a Winchester collection.
