Special ordered engraved Third Model 1866 made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1871. Blued Winchester 2-line address with King's Improvement marked 24" octagon barrel in .44 Henry with sheared silver blade front sight, notched adjustable Winchester graduated flip rear sight, and Winchester tang Vernier sight. Special order factory sling swivels. Period engraved, perhaps by Ulrich and certainly in that style. Third Model action with plain trigger and full magazine. Unnumbered walnut stocks with brass crescent buttplate with trap, numbered to gun, missing original Winchester 4-piece steel cleaning rod. Lower tang marked with "S" and "XX" stampings on left lower tang under wood. CONDITION: 30% original barrel blue with most showing a silvery patina. Barrels has some nicks and dings along with magazine tube. Brass has uncleaned patina with a mellow gold appearance. 95% of added finish remaining with old toe repair and wood proud from metal indicating some sanding. Good bore and mechanics.
