Manufactured between 1873 and 1878, with a total production around 9,000. This is the period Colt started changing from percussion guns to cartridge guns. Matching full serial numbers (190175) observed on the following parts: barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Partial serial numbers (0175) observed on the cylinder arbor and the cylinder. Assembly number (5711) observed on the cylinder arbor, loading gate, and on the frame under the trigger guard. The number on the grip is illegible. The number on the extra 12-stop cylinder is (3998). This gun has the external gate spring. Single line address on top of the barrel "-ADDESS COL. SAML COLT NEW - YORK U.S. AMERICA-" with "COLTS / PATENT" on the left front of the frame. ".44 CAL" on the left rear of the trigger guard. Naval battle scene on the cylinder. 1-piece smooth wood grips. CONDITION: Gun retains the vast majority of the nickel finish with a few scattered dings and contusions. Cylinder scene is pristine. Grip shows some wear and a few handling marks. Bore has a bit of frosting in the lands and grooves. Gun locks up tight and indexes fine. Extra 12 stop cylinder has some finish loss.
