Model 1906 Commercial Luger assembled with an New Model receiver on an Old Model frame. The receiver bears a "(Crown)/ N" commercial nitro proof on the left, with the chamber area blank, appears to have been scrubbed and refinished during the period. Underside of barrel bears a "(Crown)/ M" proof. Breechblock and toggle exhibit "(Crown)/ B" and "(Crown)/ U" commercial proofs. Front sight is a replacement and rear sight has been modified to a square notch configuration. Major metal components are blued, while some smaller components are strawed or nitre blued. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, breechblock, toggles, as well as the grips. Receiver is unnumbered and magazine is force matched. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their period blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear overall that shows through to a pleasant brown patina. Strawed components exhibit varying degrees of wear, with some mild age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, and a couple scattered impressions, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
