Left handed configuration Model 1900 Luger brown leather holster manufactured by Rock Island Arsenal under contract for the U.S. military during the 1901 test trials of the Luger pistol. The flap is marked with "US" within a oval, with 2 indiscernible inspector initials present below the closure stud. Rear of holster is stamped "ROCK ISLAND / ARSENAL" over the initials "E.H.S.". Rear of holster retains its wide belt loop. Closure stud and belt loop rivets are comprised of brass. CONDITION: Very good to excellent, with the leather still being malleable and exhibiting areas of age related cracking and mild crazing at usual stress points. Belt loop exhibits more significant age related cracking, at the top of the loop, but is otherwise very good. Stitching remains tight and brass components exhibit some mild verdigris. An exceptional example of an extremely scarce Rock Island Arsenal manufactured Model 1900 Luger holster.
