Manufactured in 1898 according to Madis. Classic blued 20" blued carbine length barrel chambered in .38-55 with 2-line Winchester address, blade front sight, ladder rear, and full length magazine tube. Blued receiver retaining saddle ring and stud. Plain 2-piece walnut stocks fit with 2 barrel bands and carbine butt plate. CONDITION: Very fine overall. The vast majority of the lustrous factory applied blued finish is retained with some toning and minor nicks. Some touch up present on the receiver around the saddle ring. Hammer and lever retain portions of dulled case case colors. Wood is solid, showing a few scattered bumps and bruises. Bore displays strong rifling throughout with some light pitting. Mechanically fine. A far better than average antique 1894 saddle ring carbine.
