Jim Merritt was partner to legendary knifemaker Bob Loveless from 1982 for over 25 years until his death in 2018. In an interview, Bob Loveless regarded Jim as the "heart and the guts of this shop". 3" blade and 7 - 3/8" in overall length with red jigged bone grip. Grip ferrule is checkered on bottom side and engraved on right and left sides with scroll, 3 layer chain vignette border, and image of elk on right side and sheep on left, both in their own vignettes, by engraver Bruce Shaw. Complete with Loveless-Merritt maker marked leather scabbard. Blade is maker marked on either ricasso with the Loveless-Merritt Riverside, California maker mark. CONDITON: Excellent+, with blade bright and markings sharp. Handle shows no major signs of distress. Scabbard has tight stitching and minor handling marks.
