Disassembly shows matching numbers on underside of rear sight, top of bolt stop, firing pin, firing pin carrier, lock block lug, locking block, subframe (internally), sear arm, and interior of baseplate retaining pin (only 13 visible). Baseplate numbered 609, grips and stock iron are unnumbered. Standard barleycorn front sight, early extractor, 50-500 meter adjustable rear sight with early pin fastener, early U shaped firing pin retaining plate, early trigger, early pull down safety. Grips are reproductions. Faint Ulm antler proof on right side of chamber, "(Crown) / U" proof on left of chamber, "WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDORF A/N" on top of chamber. Other scattered proofs. Stock/holster fits well, but is a mixture of new and old parts, unnumbered. Leather stock harness of newer manufacture with extra magazine spring and cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal retains approximately half of an old, possibly period refinish, mostly on frame, with some spots of corrosion visible both over and under the bluing, most of the frame rails, but scattered. Barrel is essentially dove grey with scattered browning. Grip straps worn to dove grey with spotted browning. Grips have some handling marks and chips to grooves, rough on interior. Mechanically fine, bore with softened rifling and some spots of oxidation. Stock is serviceable with several bug holes and wood epoxy repaired splits; iron is malformed. Harness is very good as new.
