Lot of consists of: (A) Narrow spear point Bowie knife and period scabbard. Knife measures 12 - 1/2" overall with a 7 - 7/8" blade. Ornate German silver pommel cap and silver cross guard. Banner on ricasso is marked: "WRAGG & SONS / XLNT / FURNACE HILL / SHEFFIELD". Attractive Civil War era handmade leather scabbard fits knife, is reinforced with hands forged iron nails down the sides, and may be of Confederate origin. CONDITION: Both knives are solid examples and have decent blades. (B) 1850s - 1860s clip point Bowie knife with cutlery handle. Ricasso is marked: "EDWARD / BARNES & SONS / CELEBRATED / DIRK KNIFE". Blade had been cleaned, but shows no edge nicks and has a sharp tip. Red Moroccan leather sheath is period correct but has shrunk and knife only goes part way in. Overall knife measures 11 - 3/8"" with a 6 - 3/4" blade.
