Private purchase cavalry officers kepi. Made of fine dark blue wool with a tarred leather reinforced crown with a polished cotton lining. Double stitched down the rear of the cap. Gold bullion crossed kepi insignia sewn to front. Original leather sweatband is solidly attached. Standard federal eagle buttons gold the tarred chinstrap in place above a tarred leather brim. CONDITION: 1/2" older repair to body on right hand side above the button, otherwise no mothing or notable fading.
