Standard 7 - 1/2" configuration with black powder frame, 1 piece walnut grips with incorrect D.F.C. inspection cartouche on right side. Incorrect U.S. marking on left side of frame. Colt Factory letter dated September 2009 indicates it was shipped with 25 revolvers to Simmons Hardware in St. Louis Missouri on May 9th, 1885. Incorrect DFC inspection marks are found on barrel, cylinder, frame. Last 4 digits of the serial number found on the barrel, cylinder, and inside the back mortise of the grips. Bullseye ejector knob. Barrel has proper single line Colt address and 3 line patent marking. CONDITION: Metal with a light gunmetal grey patina overall. Traces of original blue on the ejector rod housing, backstrap, trigger guard, and cylinder. Mainspring is a contemporary replacement that does not allow hammer to rest properly on safety notch. Grips are full size with faint inspection cartouches. Bore is frosted with strong rifling. Chambers are good and gun functions properly other than previously noted. Screws are good with only questionable screw being the cylinder pin retaining screw.
