Full or partial matching numbers observed on bolt stock, firing pin carrier, left flat over the chamber, safety, subframe, frame, locking block, sear, magazine baseplate, both grip scales, and stock iron. Barleycorn front sight, V-notch 50-500 rear sight with sliding elevator, faceted chamber area with typical "WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDORF A/N" top flat, offset serial, and right side with indistinct crown proof, the underside of barrel with numerous subinspector proofs. The small ring hammer is marked on the back with intertwined NS for Mauser's New Safety. Grips with iconic branded red "9" indicating chambering for 9mm Parabellum. Lanyard loop on a non-rotatable stud. CONDITION: Metal is essentially dove grey with age-related spotting and peppering throughout; there is a mixture of what appears to be original blue in the recesses of the most protected areas and some cold blue or equivalent added to present a homogenous appearance. Mechanically fine, the bore has visible rifling, heavily softened, and frosting throughout. Stock has numerous handling marks and dents throughout but is solid and attaches correctly to the pistol, though lockup is sloppy. Red 9s are desirable, and it is unusual to find one with all matching numbers, as this example has.
