1 of 5,000 Moedl 1906 M2 Royal Portuguese Army Lugers manufactured by DWM between 1908-1910. The receiver is stamped with a crown over an intertwined "M2" monogram (King Manuel II) over the chamber, with the intertwined "DWM" monogram on the toggle. A small Portuguese triangle within a circle inspection proof is on the frame, barrel, receiver, and wood bottom magazine. Major metal components are blued, while the trigger is strawed. Takedown and safety levers have been cleaned and are in-the-white. The frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, barrel, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, toggles, and the left grip panel. The pistol is accompanied by a Portuguese Guarda Nacional Republicana (National Republican Guard) pattern brown leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory finish, exhibiting heavy wear overall that shows through to a gray and brown patina, with some spots of pitting overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent pitting and good rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and a few scattered handling marks but are otherwise fine. Holster leather is malleable, exhibiting age-related cracking and some mild crazing overall.
