Produced from 1866 to 1871 by the Providence Tool Company, largely for state militia and foreign contracts. This example is fit with a standard 33" blued round barrel with blade front sight and elevation adjustable V-notch rear. .45 caliber chambering, possibly .45-50. Case hardened breech loading action bearing standard manufacturer markings on left side. Plain walnut butt stock with boxed "WC" cartouche and plain steel butt plate. Matching full length walnut forend affixed by 2 spring retained bands. Complete with cleaning rod. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel has largely drifted to a rich plum patina, with the receiver showing flashes of original dulled case color. Stocks have some impressions throughout, with 1 larger gouge on the comb. Very good bore displaying sharp rifling. Mechanically fine.
