Manufactured in 1889. Standard 32 - 5/8" round barrel chambered in .45-70 and proofed at the breech "V / P / (Eagle Head) / P". Blade front sight and Buffington rear sight base, missing the sight. Low arch breech block marked "U.S. / MODEL / 1873" with standard lock plate markings. Full length walnut military stock with 2 iron barrel bands, 2-piece trigger guard, and "US" marked butt plate. Complete with cleaning rod. CONDITION: Good. Metal components exhibit an honest brown patina. Stock is lightly cleaned with markings largely illegible and some scattered impressions. Very fine bright bore displaying sharp rifling. Crisp mechanics.
