Matching full or partial serial numbers observed throughout, but careful examination of the proofs and the serial number being out of the accepted serial number range indicates that this is a very good rebuild. Distension about the "(Crown) / (Crown) / U" proof from reapplication of stamp, traces of previous stamp visible. Serial number over chamber with traces of another illegible number beneath. Small ring with intertwined "NS" for new safety, late extractor, adjustable rear sight with sliding elevator, adjustable from 50 to 500 meters, dual lug firing pin, late trigger. Associated inspections on underside flat of chamber, normal Oberndorf markings over chamber and on right side of frame. Combination stock holster with leather slip with pouch for stripper clips, wiping rod with jag, and marked on reverse "MUHLENFELD & Co / BARMEN / 1916" and lightly incised "Preifs". Stock iron does not match. CONDITION: Very good as built. Retains the majority of the old reapplied bluing with superficial handling marks and scratches throughout, including thinning and silvering to sharp edges, muzzle, and barrel shank. Some minute pits visible under bluing. Mechanically fine, bore has strong rifling and some minor frosting. Stock is very good with handling marks and scrapes to leather, leather crazing and fragile in some areas with securing strap broken. Pistol is an ill fit in the stock.
Caliber/Bore
