Extremely rare and desirable factory engraved and gold plated New Model No. 3 single action target revolver. Ribbed barrel with pinned target front and target rear sights. Six shot fluted cylinder with a top break action. Case color hammer and trigger guard. Mounted with smooth two piece mother of pearl grips. This gun is factory engraved with a scroll and foliate pattern with a punch dot background in approximately 60% coverage. The factory letter states that this special order variation revolver was shipped from the factory on November 5, 1892, and delivered to James Conlin, address not available. It was shipped with a 6 - 1/2" barrel, gold plated finish, engraved, and with pearl grips. Other notes in the letter state that this revolver was completed with a group of other special revolvers. Several well known exhibition shooters such as Jack Omohundro and Annie Oakley had guns like this one. CONDITION: This gun retains most of the original factory applied gold finish. The finish has flaking from handling. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Good case color on the hammer, the trigger guard has case color in the protected areas. There is one very small chip at the top rear of the right grip.
