Made at Springfield Armory in 1907. Blued finish 24" barrel marked "SA" over "Flaming Bomb" over "4-12" date and an unknown "A/c" marking. Correct banded blade front sight and graduated flip rear sight marked to 2800 yards. Blued action with correct unmarked unswept bolt. Walnut correct single bolt "S" stock with no markings except for rack numbers on comb and "S.C." at toe on right side of stock likely standing for South Carolina. Correct grooved high hump top wood. Blued metal hardware with milled trigger guard. CONDITION: Metal fading to a silvery gray patina. Oil-soaked stock with no visible repairs or restoration. Frosted bore with visible rifling from period use with corrosive ammunition. ME of 2 and TE of 3 with good mechanics.
