Great looking Kentucky style flint lock rifle marked on barrel with "H", an arrow, and "(XX) ADAMS", first two characters illegible. We currently cannot locate this maker. Rifle is 59 - 3/4" overall with a 43 - 3/4" octagon .56 caliber smoothbore barrel with rifle sights. "Theoxx Richards" (latter part of first name illegible) marked flint lock with single trigger control. Artificially striped maple stock with pleasing chip carving at buttplate, very well-done molding line carving, and a coin silver thumbpiece. Stock has brass hardware with some zig-zag engraving. Comes with hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with metal fading to a plum patina. Brass has golden untouched patina. Wood shows some crazing with no visible repairs or restoration. Dark bore with sluggish mechanics.
