Lot consists of 14 19th century canteens, including 2 wagon canteens. The largest measures approximately 10". The second wagon canteen is varnished, and one side is decorated with what appears to be the owner's name "WELY". The rest of the lot includes 12 barrel canteens of varying sizes, several of which are decorated with carved initials and other period decorations. Several are painted and exhibits inventory numbers marked with white paint. Most canteens exhibit blemishes typical of antique wood field gear, including dents, scuffs, cracks, stains, etc. Most exhibit a nice patina and remain sturdy. CONDITION: Fair-good.
