Standard configuration P.08 Luger manufactured by Mauser in 1938 clandestinely for the German military. The receiver is stamped "1938" over the chamber, with Mauser "(Eagle)/ 63) waffenamts followed by a droop eagle firing proof on the right. Toggle bears Mauser's clandestine "S/42" manufacturer code. Metal components are salt blued, while the frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. All numbers match except for the magazine. This example is accompanied by an "LK," "1937", "(Eagle)/ WaA145" waffenamt marked black leather holster that contains 1 spare non-matching magazine, 1 Eickhorn police stag grip dress bayonet (right grip panel is missing its wreathed police insignia) with its leather scabbard, an Alcoso Heer dagger with metal scabbard, as well as a Hermann Goring cuff title. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original salt blue finish, exhibiting some holster-related edge wear, a few spots of mild wear and thinning showing through to gray and brown patinas, as well as some areas of mild surface oxidation overall, that is mainly concentrated on the grip straps. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting but retaining strong rifling. Grips exhibit some smoothing and a few scattered nicks to the diamonds but are otherwise fine. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some minor exterior wear, but is otherwise excellent. The police bayonet is excellent, with a minor loss on the left grip panel and some mild discoloration present on the metal fittings of the scabbard. Heer dagger exhibits some losses to the grip and pommel, with some minor scattered spots of oxidation present on the blade. Guard no longer retains its wreathed swastika; the blade tip bears dings and is flattened. A very nice pre-war Mauser production P.08 Luger with a nice assortment of liberated Third Reich memorabilia.
