Little Tom 7.65mm semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Wiener Waffenfabrik of Austria during the 1920s. The left side of the slide is stamped "WIENER WAFFENBARIK, PATENT, LITTLE TOM, CAL.7.65m.m", followed by an Austrian "NPV" and eagle proof above. Right side of slide bears the serial number and a "MADE IN AUSTRIA" stamp. Major metal components are rust blued, while some smaller components are nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece gold "WWF" monogram medallion smooth wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, barrel, hammer, as well as on the interior of the grips. This example is pictured and listed by serial number on Unblinkingeye.com under "Alois Tomiska's Little Tom Pistol" by Ed Buffaloe. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear from operation, edge wear, as well as some mild surface-level oxidation. Bore exhibits consistent pitting and retains fair rifling throughout. Grips exhibit scattered nicks and dings from storage and handling, with the grip panel bearing cracks at the screw holes. A nice example of a unique European semi-automatic pistol design.
