Manufactured 1907. Only 8500 Bisleys were chambered for .45 Long Colt; this is a good example of a fairly scarce chambering. Standard configuration of a Bisley with top of barrel marked with one line Colt information, left side with "(BISLEY MODEL) 45 COLT". Kidney-shaped ejector head. Frame with 2 line patent information and encircled Rampant Colt. Matching numbers observed of frame, trigger guard, and butt; partial 8703 on inside of grips. Typical Colt VP proof and subinspector proof with appropriate distension from application of stamp. Hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains the majority, approximately 50-60%, of the original bluing with losses to high edges and barrel consistent with holster wear; straps essentially dove grey. Frame with good evidence of case colors, approximately 30-40%. Mechanically fine with all 4 Colt clicks, bore with strong rifling and some minor pitting. Hard rubber grips are very good with some minor handling marks.
