Manufactured 1900 per serial number. Standard 5 - 1/2" configuration with blade front sight that has been shaved and sharpened to adjust the point of impact, Colt's Hartford rollmark in 1 line on top of the barrel, .38 Colt caliber designation on the left side of the barrel. Frame with 2-line patent address and encircled Rampant Colt. Matching numbers observed on frame, trigger guard, and butt. Hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal is essentially dove grey with portions of bluing retained, primarily in protected areas, such as ejector rod and cylinder flutes. Flashes of case coloring on frame with better evidence on the protected areas, such as loading gate and recessed areas. Pitting on left recoil shield and cylinder is indicative of being placed on something for some time. Grips are solid with some handling marks and one minor chip at toe of right scale. Mechanically fine, bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling.
