Factory letter indicates shipment as a 5 - 1/2" blued gun, unlisted stocks, in .38-40 and sent in a shipment of 6 to Marshall Wells Hardware Company, Duluth, Minnesota on April 25th, 1902. Standard blade front sight and notch rear sight. Top of the barrel with single line Colt information, left side with caliber designation. The frame has 2 line patent information and encircled rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers observed on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. Hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal is essentially dove grey throughout, with some areas of handling marks and surface level oxidation, flashes of blue in the most protected areas. Grips with heavy smoothing and handling marks. 4 so-called "kill notches" on the bottom of the right scale. Bore is very dark with visible rifling.
