Unique gun for both the Civil War collector and Kentucky rifle collector. This gun is constructed from a Starr Civil War carbine and made into a break open rifle using the lock from a Starr and some other small parts, with the barrel and stock constructed by the gunsmith. The 24 - 3/4" octagonal rifled barrel is in 45 caliber centerfire(?) and is stamped "J.M. WATSON / ALTOONA, PA". Watson worked in Altoona circa 1880. A unique piece of ingenuity. CONDITION: Overall fair condition with age and usage wear. Metal has turned a brown patina with all parts having a similar finish. Dark shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
