1 of only approximately 1385 Model 1911 single shot pistols manufactured by Webley & Scott as a training version of the Model 1908 semi-automatic pistol for the English Metropolitan Police. The left side of the slide bears the Webley & Scott winged bullet trademark logo followed by "WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD/ LONDON & BIRMINGHAM.", with the right side bearing the caliber designation ".22 RIM FIRE. LONG". The left side of the frame bears the serial number, with the right side being stamped "No 3212" over a "(Crown)/ BV" proof and "MACNAUGHTON" retailer stamp. Major metal components exhibit a lustrous blue finish, while some smaller components are polished in-the-white. Checkered grips and grip extension are comprised of brown vulcanite. Additional features include a 9 - 1/8" barrel, blade front sight, "U" notch rear sight, grooved manual ejector, and a slot on the butt of the frame for a stock attachment. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear that show through to a grayish brown patina, some scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as some areas of mild surface oxidation mainly present on the trigger guard and front grip strap. Barrel exhibits thinning that shows through to a pleasant brown patina overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well-defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit smoothing and some scattered handling marks, with the right panel exhibiting a repaired crack at the top of the panel and a small section of replaced material at the bottom of the grip. A very attractive Webley & Scott Model 1911 training pistol.
