Rare Colt Round Barrel conversion made by Colt Firearms from 1873 to 1880 with approximately 6,500 made. Blued barrel marked with "COLT'S PT. F.A. Co. / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in .38 centerfire caliber with ejector rod and no provision for loading lever (missing ejector). 5-shot Stagecoach scene cylinder, casehardened 1871/1872 patent marked frame, brass .36 caliber marked frame, and brass backstrap. Walnut 1-piece varnished grips. Comes with a leather period Slim Jim holster. CONDITION: Metal has worn to a silvery patina with some areas of light surface pitting. The front sight is missing along with the ejector rod and spring, with ejector tube slightly indented near the cylinder. Replaced wedge and trigger guard screws. Grips show traces of finish with a general oil-soaked appearance. Dark pitted bore with visible rifling and functioning mechanics. The holster is well worn with tears and cracking from age and use. Hard to find gun with great used look.
