These cast iron guns were built by Patrick Cunningham and Cogan off of a Chadman patent breech. Of solid construction throughout, resulting in an extraordinarily heavy firearm. Stock lightened in an attempt to make the gun somewhat wieldable. CONDITION: Iron is essentially chocolate patina throughout, with areas of putting throughout from exposure to saltwater; some areas deeper than others. Breech has been repaired somewhat amateurly. These guns were used to propel bomb lances for whale hunting prior to the use of more conventional firearms.
