Series II Type 44 carbine manufactured at the Nagoya arsenal. The receiver retains its full chrysanthemum above kanji characters denoting the model designation over the chamber, with the left side bearing the series number, serial number, and Nagoya arsenal insignia. Major metal components are blued, while some smaller components are strawed. Stock and handguard are comprised of wood. Bayonet housing is the 3rd type. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, bayonet housing, and safety knob. The bolt body and dust cover are mismatched. A cleaning rod is not present. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear and thinning that shows through to a pleasant brown patina. Mirror bore with strong rifling throughout. Stock exhibits scattered dings, marks, and impressions from storage and handling but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
