Standard configuration K98k manufactured by Mauser in 1943. The receiver bears a Mauser "(Eagle)/ 135" waffenamt above Mauser's clandestine manufacturer code "byf" and the 2-digit year of manufacture "43" over the chamber, with an eagle firing proof and the serial number present on the left. The underside of the stock wrist and right side of the buttstock bear additional Mauser "(Eagle)/ 135" waffenamts. The bolt handle's rear and trigger guard underside are stamped "GERMANY." Metal components are blued, while the stock and handguard are comprised of solid walnut. Most numbers match and include the receiver, bolt stop, floorplate, rear sight assembly, barrel bands, stock, and handguard. Bolt is a replacement, appearing to be of Yugoslavian or Czech manufacture. The rifle is mounted with a reproduction brown leather sling. CONDITION: Very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of mild wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas. Very bright bore with strong rifling throughout. The stock exhibits some scattered marks from handling and storage but is otherwise fine.
