Boys anti-tank bolt action rifle manufactured by Birmingham Small Arms. Adopted in 1937, The Boys line of anti-tank rifles was short-lived, with advances in Axis armor quickly rendering the rifle obsolete and quickly phased out of front-line service. This example has been converted to fire .50 BMG, removing it from the statutes under the scope of the National Firearms Act, and will be transferred as a rifle as compared to a Destructive Device. The left side of the receiver is marked "R.B. MKI" followed by the serial number "C2.751". The left of the barrel is stamped with the BSA logo along with several British proofs towards the breech. Metal components are blued, with the shock absorber exhibiting a black enamel painted finish. Butt is fitted with a wool recoil pad. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting scattered areas of wear and thinning overall that show through to brown and gray patinas. Bore is dark and retains strong rifling throughout. A nice example of a .50 BMG conversion Boys anti-tank rifle.
