1762 dated document by Joseph Redman, high sheriff of Philadelphia County in which Redman takes "Twelve honest and lawful Men of my Balance...in my proper perform to the lot of Land Buildings Improvements and Premises situate on the City of Philada". The 12 men are listed in the body of the document and include Philip Syng, a renowned silversmith who created fine works for the wealthy families of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jacob Lewis, a master builder in Philadelphia, and other builders and craftsmen. The same 12 men listed by Redman also signed the document with wax seals. This document is former Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection. The edges are in good condition but the document is fragmented in 5 pieces. Shadowed impressions where the seals rested when folded. Ink remains bold with legible writing. CONDITION: Good.
