This music box/coat hook is carved in the form of a dog dressed as a hunter holding a flask and a rifle. His legs are made of chamois horn, eyes are glass and the body contains the swiss made music works (Plays 2 Songs). There is a remnant of the original label on the back and the carving can be attributed to C. SPIESS/SCHLOSS/LAUFEN PATIENT 16870. (1890's). CONDITION: Plays, but the back cover is in need of minor repair. No other damage or repair noted. A great example of this early Black Forest music box.
Condition: (Very Good).
