Sheriff's Model Single Action Army revolver manufactured by Colt. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT SHERIFF'S MODEL", with Colt's 2-line address across the top and "COLT SAA .44-.40" on the right. Left side of frame bears Colt's 2-line patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt logo. The frame, cylinder, barrel, and rear grip strap exhibit scroll engraved on a thin punch dot border, with the trigger guard screw slot and butt screw slot encircled with floral petal engravings. Major metal components are aftermarket nickel plated, with the frame screws and trigger exhibiting a lustrous nitre-blued finish. Frame is mounted with Colt gold medallion smooth faux ivory grips. Matching serial numbers are on the frame, cylinder, and left side of the grip straps. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their nickel-plated finish, exhibiting few superficial marks from storage and handling, and some spots of mild pitting beneath the nickel plating. Nitre blued components exhibit varying degrees of wear from handling, with worn areas showing through to a gray patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well-defined rifling throughout. Faux pearl grips are poorly fit, with the left grip bearing a small crack towards the top of the panel. A very attractive Third Generation Colt Single Action Army Sheriff's Model revolver.
