A finely executed and unusual figural design with arrows across the brow band on this Montana Penitentiary bridle. The bridle has fine woven or braided calfskin knots, supports and slides. Celluloid rings as decoration including on the edges of the domed glass dog head conchos. Double round cheeks with diamond patterns, natural color tassels and the correct iron bit. The styling of the facing arrows across the brow is reminiscent of designs seen in Navajo weavings of the same period.
CORRECTION: This is a Montana Penitentiary bridle, not Maine Penitentiary.
