Standard configuration K98k assembled by Mauser Berlin-Borsigwalde in 1942 from a Gustloff-Werke supplied receiver. The receiver is stamped with a mostly indiscernible "(Eagle)/ 26" waffenamt above the dual manufacturer code "bcd/ar" and 2-digit year of manufacture "42". Right side of the rear sight base is unusually stamped "J A M". sight Metal components are blued, with the stock and handguard being comprised of laminated wood. The stock has been lightly sanded at one time. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, bolt assembly, bolt stop rear sight assembly, barrel bands, trigger guard, and floorplate. The stock has been renumbered to match on the left side of the butt, and the handguard is mismatched. The rifle is mounted with a period brown leather sling. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some areas of mild surface pitting overall and some areas of mild wear that show through to a gray patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent pitting in the grooves and retaining good rifling throughout. Stock is very good, as lightly sanded. This a nice example of a seldom encountered K98k variation.
